WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING!

DSLR/Mirrorless Camera
*required

You'll need the full power and creative control of a Digital SLR/Mirrorless Camera to get the most out of your experience on this workshop!

REMOTE OR

SHUTTER RELEASE

*recommended

A shutter release allows you to take photos without touching the camera. This helps ensure a sharp photographs for longer exposures.

WIDE ANGLE
TELEPHOTO LENS

*required

It is a good idea to bring a wide angle lens get as much beauty in one shot as you can. As well as a telephoto lens for long-lens landscapes.

EXTRA BATTERIES

*required

It is always a good idea to have a few extra batteries on hand. Batteries die faster when using LiveView and in colder temps during the morning.

TRIPOD

*required

A tripod is a must when shooting sunrise/sunset and night photography. You will be using longer exposures and you will not be able to handhold the camera.

NEUTRAL DENSITY FILTERS

*optional

ND Filters and Graduated ND Filters are good to have as they help control the light in camera. Dani can assist with any questions you may have.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Sunrise and Sunset Private Workshop/Photo Tours:

A non photographing friend and/or spouse are welcome to join!
Transportation details: See Below
A 30% administration fee is non-refunded.
Will operate Rain or Shine. We can still photograph the clouds.
These workshop will only be cancelled if there is a weather warning put in place by Environment Canada.

Stars/Night Photography Workshop/Photo Tours:

A non photographing friend and/or spouse are welcome to join!
Transportation details: See Below.
A 30% administration fee is non-refunded.
These workshops will only be cancelled if there is completely overcast skies with no prediction of clearing.

We are open year round but are closed Dec 24, 25, 26 & 31st as well as Jan 1st and Jan 15 & 16th every year.

Transportation

Transportation may be provided while on photo workshop/tour for those traveling without a rental vehicle at no additional charge. Please ask for more details.
Transportation will NOT be provided to Banff National Park or Canmore. Please arrange your own transportation.
Please note: If you require transportation, Dani's vehicle is her personal vehicle and is pet friendly. Dani's dog Tuzo attends most workshops/tours.

Clarifications

A non-photographing friend of spouse means that private workshops/tours prices are based on one person, but we do encourage clients to bring their spouse or friends to enjoy the amazing scenery. They are welcome to use their phones or cameras to take photographs themselves but the guiding and teaching will be concentrated on the main photographing client.
Individuals under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
These workshops/tours are not recommended for children. If a child under the age of 12 are attending, an adult other then the photographing client must be present.

Cancellation Policy

Full payment is required upon booking. Cancellations will be accepted 7 days prior to reserved date.
A 30% booking deposit is non-refundable.
Refunds will not be issued for cancellations made later then 7 days prior to private photo tour or photo workshop date.
In the event of severe weather, workshops and tours may be most ponded without notice if an instructor is unable to attend.
In the event we have to cancel a workshop, participants will be given the option to reschedule to a later date or receive a full refund. We are not, however, liable for expenses incurred such as airfare or accommodations. We recommend the purchase of trip insurance.

If you join us for an event, please understand that you are responsible for your own preparedness and well-being and will hold no one else liable in case of injury.

You agree not to hold the Instructors, Banff Photo Workshops & Tours or any other members responsible for any injuries that may happen at a planned event. This release extends and applies to, and also covers and includes, all unknown, unforeseen, unanticipated and unsuspected injuries, damages, loss and liability. You are responsible to research the event and bring proper gear.

Banff Photo Workshops & Tours does not provide liability insurance for the protection of individuals who may participate in any of the events planned by the BPW&T.

Your attendance at any event signifies that you have read and accept the terms of this liability waiver. By signing up for any event you understand that you are attending all events AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Women Series

the WOMEN SERIES

Here at Banff Photo Workshops& Tours we are proud to offer women specific workshops in the Canadian Rockies.

The history of our Women Series goes way back to 2015 where we hosted a "Women In The Backcountry" a hike in photography workshop to Shadow Lake.

In 2016 & 2017 we brought groups of ladies to Assiniboine.

After taking little over a year off to refocus, we are happy to start offering more accessible women specific workshops in the Canadian Rockies.

These are accessible workshops with front country and hotel based adventures that are geared towards helping other women feel comfortable with landscape photography and offer a space to ask questions and build confidence.

*NOTE* This type of workshop is not about excluding men, it is about including women. Historically women thrive in groups of other women and we want to encourage growth.
